Volume and pan are no problem and work great but I can't figure out the aux sends. How do you automate the Aux Sends on/off? Say I wanted to echo the last few words of the chorus section from a vocal bus? Without using Object editing? Without splitting the multiple vocal takes to different/new tracks? You know, like a hardware console. Do you use UAD plugins in Samplitude? How do you avoid the huge amount of latency and drop outs on playback? What are your settings in preferences? Sorry to be ever so slightly OT.but I think the OP might be interested in this too.

Running Samplitude on a Mac with bootcamp works really well! The converters and quality of the plug ins you use will affect things more than the program. You just need to be organized & know what other person needs ro continue the session.Ħ. Getting session in & out of any DAW these days is pretty staighforward. If it supports the HUI protocol, you at least have a general place to start.ĥ. You can literally mix and master a song from the same project window if you want to.ģ. The ability to have object based editing- where you can automate and add plug ins, etc to each object, is amazing. It always felt like I was going through 3 steps to get something done. I have never liked the Pro Tools editing.
never did a ton of automation on PT, but when I did, I thought it was clumsy compared to Samplitude.Ģ. I try Pro Tools everyone & then to see if I am missing anything - I am not.ġ. Getting you hooked on a basic system then realizing OOPS if you want that, you have to spend XXXXX dollars!! Audio crack. I can understand that back in the CPU starved days, but not today.

Plus the idea that there are different "flavors" of PT.
Always having to add simple EQ or insert to every track all the time. It always confused me getting everything working. I have never gotten on too well with the Pro Tools method of working. Any insight regarding the questions below would be much appreciated.ġ) Does the automation in Samplitude ProX2 fall short in any way compared to Pro Tools 11? Or is it better?Ģ) Is editing audio easier or harder in Samplitude?ģ) Is Samplitude any more or less efficient regarding CPU usage? How does Samplitude utilize multiple cores / hyper-threading as compared to Pro Tools?Ĥ) How well does Samplitude work with the Avid Artist controllers (I own an Artist Control V2)?ĥ) How easy do you find it to important Samplitude sessions into Pro Tools and vice versa?Ħ) How do the sonics compare (I'm sorry DAWs sound different to me and you won't convince me otherwise)?Īside from those questions above, thoughts regarding any other quirks, insights and advantages / disadvantages would be quite helpful.Īside from those questions above, thoughts regarding any other quirks, insights and advantages / disadvantages would be quite helpful.=

I am a long time Pro Tools user (I have used TDM, HDX, and HD Native at studios I do work out of, but at home I run the HD Software with a Lynx AES16e) but am also curious about Samplitude.
